At MaMeMi – one of the best Italian restaurants in Copenhagen – we want to give you an unforgettable gastronomic experience by perfectly pairing pizza and wine.

 

At the core of everything we do is the traditional Roman pizza topped with unconventional ingredients. To accentuate these innovative flavor profiles, they are complemented by our large collection of organic Italian wines, carefully curated through intense research of the producers and the terroir. Together, this constitutes MaMeMi’s DNA.

Pizza

 

The most fundamental aspect that distinguishes MaMeMi from other pizzerias in Copenhagen is our dough. A dough inspired by a long-lived tradition, distinctive to Rome, which means that our pizza is characterized by its extremely thin and crispy crust that offers a satisfying crunch with every bite. This distinct tecture is achieved through specific kneading techniques and a secret blend of five organic flours sourced from different Italian artisanal millers.

WINE

 

Wine is the second pillar of MaMeMi. We want to challenge the traditional idea that pizza must be accompanied by beer. Therefore, MaMeMi has set out on a journey in search of hundreds of Italian winemakers, who work their traditional vineyards with passion, focusing not only on the high quality of the wine but also on environmentally friendly farming and production methods.

 

We are proud to offer a wine list of more than four hundred labels and we are delighted to tell you the story behind each and every one of them. Not only about the characteristics, notes and properties of the wines, but also the life stories of the winemakers themselves, as we have met them in person. We strongly believe that knowing the artisan behind the label can evoke a symphony of flavors in your glass, infusing you with unforgettable memories.

 

At MaMeMi, we only offer wines based on native grapes from their respective region. We want to offer you a collection of wines that are best represent the beauty of their terroir, reflecting the climate and the soil to which they belong.

 

Even if you are not hungry, you are very welcome in our wine bar in Vesterbro, where we are proud to serve the best Italian wines, specially curated by our sommelier.

 

THE FOUNDERS

 

The founders of MaMeMi are Francesco Barletta, Danilo Barletta and Daniel Di Pierro – two brothers and a cousin – who grew up together in a quaint village in the vicinity of Rome. After having spent their childhood together, they decided to go their separate ways to study, work and experience the food and wine around the world.

 

Francesco honed his craft in the art of baking, becoming a master pizzaiolo. Danilo followed his passion for wine, achieving certification as a sommelier. Daniel excelled in the fields of hospitality and management. Together, they constitute the essence of MaMeMi: Roman-style pizza exquisitely paired with organic wine, all served in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

 

In 2014, after many years apart, they reunited in Copenhagen, where they decided to embark on an ambitious journey together. They combined their strengths and laid the foundation of MaMeMi – a place that honors their childhood memories by blending their unique skills with a shared commitment to serving the best pizza in Copenhagen!
